Life in Leimersheim has always been affected by shipping and fishing. The regionally typical half-timbered houses give the village a distinctive charm. Situated in a nature-sanctuary and very close to the Rhine, Leimersheim is a good starting-point for aquatic athletes and cyclists. This village disposes of a small marina and offers all possibilities for active recreation in and on the water.
The Rhine ferry, which is esteemed by cyclists and hikers, is considered as an important transport connection between Baden and the Palatinate.
The Rhine hiking trail “Veloroute”, which goes from Basel to the German-Dutch border, is close-by.
Music lovers enjoy the summer concerts at the terraces near the lake. An annually created maize labyrinth permits you to get completely lost.
